Farm to market, meals you want

DSC04262 DSC04265Great meals don’t have to be fancy or expensive. But even simple food has to have something special. For me that means a certain bite to the food. Perhaps some serrano peppers in the guacamole instead of jalapeños. Perhaps raw red onions instead of yellow. Perhaps just the right amount of pesto in the caprese panini. In short, even food that claims to be comfortable should be special. For us these days it should not be too greasy. How do we get all these interests met?

It is a challenge and one that the new restaurant at 1522 Kingwood Dr. called Farm to Market has met brilliantly. They consistently deliver food that you will remember, food you will crave. We ate there a couple of days ago for the first time, though we had been following their development on Facebook for some time. I was delighted to try the baked potato soup, the grilled cheese, the house salad and the caprese panini.

I look forward to trying more dishes and will try to stop there as I fly in and out of IAH in Houston.  It is so wonderful to see Stephan Perry and Sara Perry, whom I’ve known since she was a baby in Venezuela, produce such great food is such wonderful surroundings.
